Welcome to Source of Steel - The Heavy Metal Museum. For the metal head who likes to own or collect physical CDs, Source of Steel is my website dedicated to the love of physical metal on shiny plastic discs. Micro-reviews, thoughts, pics of my own collection and random utterances galore. The site started out purely as a way of sharing my rarities to like-minded fans, but now (for longevity's sake more than anything) it is open to new physical metal music bits I've picked up, including new releases and other random shit.

Fester - Winter of Sin / Silence

These Norwegians sure knew how to unleash some unfettered hellish blackened death. Both original 1st pressings. The bands debut, Winter of Sin was only the 2nd release on the then embryonic No Fashion Records, and their 2nd album Silence was released on the now similarly defunct Lethal Records.

  1. I wish the Winter of Sin album had a slightly better production, cause it was surely a great album. Silence was, and is one of the better albums ever !! A mix of both heavy metal, thrash, black and death I cant compare to any other band. just awasome.Cant wait to listen to their new album A celebration of death !
