Welcome to Source of Steel - The Heavy Metal Museum. For the metal head who likes to own or collect physical CDs, Source of Steel is my website dedicated to the love of physical metal on shiny plastic discs. Micro-reviews, thoughts, pics of my own collection and random utterances galore. The site started out purely as a way of sharing my rarities to like-minded fans, but now (for longevity's sake more than anything) it is open to new physical metal music bits I've picked up, including new releases and other random shit.

Tortharry - When The Memories Are Free

Death metal from the Czech Republic here, with the debut album from the angry Tortharry. This is nigh on impossible to find, and I searched for it for a long time after having an old battered C90 tape of it from my teens which finally breathed its last breath. Original first pressing on Taga Records. Really obscure and underground, I love it.

  1. Holy fuck, this is like one of the death metal holy grails dude!! This must be one of the hardest death metal releases to track down ever. I've never seen it on eBay, but I know a hell of a lot of people are looking for it. You must be sitting on a gold mine LOL
